Crossbow Injury Survey

Crossbow Injury Survey
Summary:

Friend of mine did it with my crossbow took off about a third of his thumb. He had shot the bow about 20 times before it happened. I had told him before hand make sure you do not put your fingers on top. People get used to shooting a rifle all their life and forget you cannot lay the thumb along the top where the string comes accross. This happens because people are concentrating on the target that they lay the thumb where the string comes accross. Need a guard so people cannot do this. Now once you have done it and your thumb is gone I guess you don't have to worry about it hitting it anymore. You Basically have a thumb removal kit in your hands if not done properly SD

You will need to begin drawing on every animal you see just so you know what you can get away with. I would hate to have to draw on a huge buck my first time out. I don't have to worry because I'm not that lucky either. Good luck.

High Fence & Preditors

Summary:

i have been hunting in the same spot for a couple years on about 500 acres, last year next to are lease they started putting up a high fence right at the beginning of bow season and completed by gun season. we where dreading the gun hunt season thinking they locked up all the deer, but susprising we saw more deer than usuall. the deer turn the high fence into a road path to follow, we saw deer walking the fence ever time we pulled into the pasture. so for us its enhanced our huntting by watching them walk the fence, then coming into are feeders.

Question

Summary:

Brave soul trying to sneak up on Wilbur. Provided you can even get close to bow range, drop down low...take a knee. Less likely to spook them. If you spook them, and can squeel, they may stop and come back...Not joking. Look for ground tore all up.  If a large batch is in the area may look like ground has been plowed. May even smell them. They dont realy like to be out in daylight. latest I have seen them out and about is 7:30AM. Have seen one out durring the day, but it had taken a shotgun blast to the face, and was coming to water...he didnt make it.
