Fifteen anglers will go into the February 18-20 Bassmaster Classic on the Louisiana Delta as first-time qualifiers - Classic rookies, they're called. Some of those anglers, however, have a lot more rookie in them than do others with the same label.

BASS, the worldwide authority on bass fishing, announced that Mercury will extend its sponsorship of BASS as an official engine sponsor of the organization in 2011. As part of the agreement, Mercury will be an official sponsor of the Bassmaster Classic, Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens and the BASS' Federation Nation.

Skeeter Products, Inc., manufacturer of Skeeter brand high performance boats, and BASS, the worldwide authority on bass fishing, announced Tuesday that Skeeter will continue its sponsorship of the organization for multiple years.

Six of those 13 qualifiers will come from the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens (two from each division: Northern, Southern and Central). Another six will come from the BASS Federation Nation Championship in late October. The 50th and final will be decided Nov. 6. That angler will be the 2010 champion of the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series operated by American Bass Anglers.

BASS, the worldwide authority on bass fishing, today announced that Bass Pro Shops, the world's leading supplier of outdoor gear, will build on the marketing alliance formed last year by assuming title sponsorship of the Bassmaster Opens in 2010-2011. With the agreement, final-day weigh-ins of select Bassmaster Open events will be held at Bass Pro Shops stores.
