The Association of Collegiate Anglers has selected Allen, TX as the host city for the 2012 Cabela's Collegiate Big Bass Bash. Hundreds of students from across the country will migrate to the city of Allen, and nearby Lake Lavon, March 19-24, 2012 for what should be a fun-filled start to the 2012 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series.

Bass Pro Shops, recently named as one of the "Top 10 Hottest Brands in America" by Advertising Age magazine, will celebrate its 58th store's Grand Opening Thursday, November 17th through Sunday, November 20th.

Austin University team of Andrew Upshaw, Hemphill, Texas and Ryan Watkins, Rockport, Texas, took the lead on day one of the National Guard FLW College Fishing Texas Regional championship presented by Mercury and hosted by Texas A&M on Lake Somerville Thursday with a five bass limit weighing 21 pounds, 5 ounces.

The plan was simple and the execution was clean at the finale Bass Champs Championship on Lake Falcon October 8-9. There could not have been a bigger nor better grand finale than what was seen in both the sacks brought in and individual bass caught.

The Toyota Texas Bass Classic, is quickly approaching. Fan favorite Mike Iaconelli and the 2010 runner up will be back again this year to try to take the title that evaded him previously.

Teams from Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas converged on Sam Rayburn October 1-2 to lay claim on the Bass Champs East Texas Region Championship title. Over $77,000 was paid back in cash and prizes wrapping up the 2011 season.

Tazz Ferrell of McKinney, Texas, caught a two-day total of nine bass weighing 17 pounds, 8 ounces Oct. 1-2 to win $2,302 in the Co-angler Division. Ferrell caught his bass by fishing jetties with a wacky rigged Senko.
