author requestSummary: I am a longtime deer/elk/antelope hunter, and concealed-weapon carrier, who has never hunted wild boar. I'm looking for someone to take me hunting boar in Texas. I am also an author working on a book about the many ways we gun guys appreciate firearms. I'm profiling, for example, a concealed-carry ...
Field dressing a hog ( never done it)Summary:
We've always at least skinned and quartered our animals before taking them to get butchered. That allows some time to ice them down and let them age some. I would strongly recommend that you visit the meat processor you plan on using before you use them. There are some looney tunes out there so it pays to check them out. Like Sal we've done some of our own butchering, but you really need a larger work area and a better saw than what we have to do it right. Need somewhere near Austin for first time hog hunter.....Summary:
Looking to book a boar / feral pig hunt for free if possible. From what I understand these are considered nusiance animals. Call me the cleaner:) I would like to find a ranch/farm who wants some pigs hunted down. Not sure about season, fees for license or anything else but if you don't mind, I'll grab a few respectful, responsible pals and we'll take them off your land/hands. Hunting on the Atascosa RiverSummary:
We are thinking it's a good spot, got only one problem, a bad neighbor who does not respect hunting ethics and we suspect might be poaching on our land. Since we are not always around to patrol the property, we are suspecting that he may be harvesting animals near our hunting set up and dragging them across to his property, regardless, this could cause a serious problem. Hopefully, there is enough wildlife in the area for everyone, ethical or not!!! |
