Cuts proposed by the House of Representatives would slash funding for a range of policies affecting fish and game management, hunting and angling access and public- and private-lands administration.

Beginning in 2012, the 2010 Healthcare Reform Bill requires businesses to use Form 1099 to report purchases of $600 or more to the IRS.  On February 18, 2011, the Senate voted to repeal the 1099 revision in the Healthcare Reform Bill. There are currently two similar bills waiting to be voted upon by the House of Representatives.

Certain lots of recently manufactured 45 Auto ammunition may contain an incorrect propellant charge. Use of product from these lots may result in firearm damage and possible serious injury.

The National Rifle Association of America strongly opposes President Obama's nomination of Andrew Traver as director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE). Traver has been deeply aligned with gun control advocates and anti-gun activities. A bill recently introduced in the U.S. Senate would protect traditional fishing tackle from being banned by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) while offering additional protections for traditional ammunition.

The groups leading the charge to ban traditional ammunition in the United States are continuing efforts to secure the ban despite being blocked by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). 

Six of those 13 qualifiers will come from the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens (two from each division: Northern, Southern and Central). Another six will come from the BASS Federation Nation Championship in late October. The 50th and final will be decided Nov. 6. That angler will be the 2010 champion of the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Weekend Series operated by American Bass Anglers.
