A decision by the administration is expected within days.

When ESPN announced in January that it was canceling the WBT, Rod Baker, Bass Caddy Husband of WBT Pro Dr. Terri Elkins, was shocked, but unsurprised. Registration began Monday for the 2010 PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series that begins in July.  "Priority Entry I" registration, from Feb. 22-26, is for all anglers in the Top 100 of the 2009 Carrot Stix PAA Tournament Series Point Standings who plan to sign up for all four PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series events this season.

Anglers' Legacy, a national mission from the award-winning Take Me Fishing™ campaign, asks outdoor enthusiasts to preserve the legacies of boating and fishing by introducing at least one newcomer to the sport.

The Sam Houston State University team of Clint Nowell and Jeff Randolph won the National Guard FLW College Fishing Texas Division event on Cross Lake Saturday with four bass weighing 15 pounds, 15 ounces. The victory earned the team $10,000 to be split evenly between the university and the university's bass-fishing club. The win also helped them advance to the Texas Division Regional Championship where they could ultimately win a Ranger 177TR with a 90-horsepower engine wrapped in school colors for their school's club and $25,000 for the school they represent.

College Bass, the nation's elite collegiate fishing tournament, announced today that it will bring its West Super Regional event to Lake Tyler in Tyler, Texas Saturday, April 24-Sunday, April 25 making it the second consecutive year that the Lone Star state will host this regional tournament. The morning launches will take place at daybreak at the Lake Tyler Marina and the daily weigh-ins at Academy Sports + Outdoors (8668 South Broadway Ave.) at 3 p.m. CDT.

The Professional Anglers Association has released its four-tournament schedule, with stops on lakes Cherokee in northeast Tennessee and Tawakoni in Texas along with longtime favorites Norman and Table Rock.
