Hawk and Buzzard eating carcass

Hawk and Buzzard eating carcass
Summary:

More photos of a hawk and vultures interacting. This coyote walked up, took one lap, grabbed the carcass and dragged it off. Of course, I accidently deleted those photos, but here is the one photo left.

Beaver Evidence

Beaver Evidence
Summary:

Every time I see evidence of beaver chewing my uncle's retirement fund (he planted pine trees 10 years ago on some acreage in east texas), I am amazed at how "human" it looks. If we had dropped 10,000 beaver into New Orleans they would have repairs the levies in a week.

Matt Deyo, Fishing Guide

Matt Deyo, Fishing Guide
Summary: I like to see a fishing guide who is so committed to his mission that he tastes the bait fish. Read the Journal Entry

Some say Axis, I say Spotted Fallow

Some say Axis, I say Spotted Fallow
Summary:

Some say Axis, I say Spotted Fallow. What do you think?

Can you name this spider?

Can you name this spider?
Summary:

How often do you get so close to a black widow that you can see the thread coming out of the back end. Spring Break is a great time to hike and take photos - not deer season - not too hot.

My cousin John Lenderman winning Texas State 4H Shotgun Competition 2010

My cousin John Lenderman winning Texas State 4H Shotgun Competition 2010
Summary:

At the 2010 4H Shotgun Shooting competition my cousin John Lenderman won international skeet, international trap, international overall, as well as the six event Gunsmoke Award. I am not sure if he enjoyed the contest more than the presentation of the awards by the Texas 4H Ambassadors (young ladies).

Pronghorn Antelope

Pronghorn Antelope
Summary:

Finally my children got to see a Pronghorn Antelope in the wild while driving home from Santa Fe, NM. I am always surprised by how many people don't recognize the animal, don't think it is native, and of course are shocked to learn it is the 2nd fastest land animal.

Close up of Bull Elk

Close up of Bull Elk
Summary: I am told that even though Elk where once native, the current population we have in Texas are all transplants, thus I am suppose to categorize this photo as, "Exotic". I don't know why it bugs me so much, I have only hunted Elk one time, but something about such a majestic animal being allowed to disappear from our Texas landscape, along with the Bison and Black Bear, (although all are making a come back) is a sad reminder of what happens when WE don't protect our wildlife resources.

Bud Force's Big Ram

Bud Force's Big Ram
Summary:

Bud Force was hunting free range on a friend's ranch near Pandale, Tx when he took this trophy corsican ram. There is not much else to say but, "WOW"
