The Dawson Whitetail Ranch is a year round hunting operation offering both all-inclusive & self service hunting packages on ranch located in the Legendary South Texas Brush Country which is known for its abundance of game & beautiful landscape. Our guests leave as our friends verses a customer at a commercial operation. Commonly, reservations for the next visit are booked before their departure.

We market hunts for Whitetail Bucks in the 120-150 B&C range.  For 2007, if your whitetail trophy buck doesn't measure more than 130 B&C, we'll deduct $250 from your bill.

          The entire 23,000+ acres has planted food plots.throughout, each planted with grain twice a year. All animals are protein fed via feeders throughout the year, assuring exceptional horn and antler growth. The property contains exceptional foliage and browse for a deer and exotic paradise. Over 20 different species of deer and exotics are offered making Record Buck a hunter's delight.

          Record Buck is big and beautiful with grass and oaks abundant. At Record Buck, you get "South Texas Deer" with hill country beauty. This is some of Texas' most beautiful Hill Country. There is no sage brush. Almost all species have large herds. For example, there are over 500 Audads, 700 Elk, and 400 Axis deer. Whitetail deer are abundant in quantities throughout the property.

          The facilities are second to none with first class lodging and meals with all hunts guided. Spring Turkeys are available. Corporate arrangements are possible with lodging for up to 22 guests. Exotic hunting is available all year round.

In the language of the Masai Tribe of Tanzania, Africa, morani means hunter and protector. Morani River Ranch is dedicated to the preservation and proliferation of wildlife and its habitat. The ranch is a 3,000 acre game paradise, nestled in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. It runs along 4 miles of the spring fed Nueces River with a diverse landscape that includes oak bottoms, pecan groves, prickly pear cactus, mesquite, yucca, cedars, black brush and many other native plants and grasses. We have instituted an aggressive and selective clearing and planting of food sources, to expand the carrying capacity of the natural habitat for the various species that inhabit the ranch property.

Morani River Ranch offers selective trophy hunting as a game management tool for the discriminating hunter as well as the selective breeding of rare and exotic species. Proceeds from these hunts are used to expand and improve the wildlife habitat on the ranch and for propagation of the rare species. Native wildlife include Whitetail deer, Rio Grande turkey, mourning dove, white wing dove and bobcat.
