B & B Outfitters - Trophy Whitetail Packages
Summary: Anyone who has hunted or ever dreamed of hunt for Texas Trophy Whitetail, has heard of the famous “Golden Triangle” - a tri-county area in deep South Texas that has produced more “Boone and Crockett” Trophy Whitetails than any other area in the United States.
Our 12,000 acre Trophy Whitetail ranch lies deep in the heart of this hunting mecca in Webb County. Our entire ranch is low fenced and free ranging, but through years of extensive management and feeding programs we produce outstanding Trophy Whitetails. The average Trophy Whitetail Buck will score 150 and up. We only take 10 bucks per year off of this ranch, so there are plenty of the “big bucks”! Our Texas Trophy Whitetail package is all-inclusive, save for travel costs to South Texas. You would fly into Laredo International Airport, where we would pick you up. If you choose to fly into San Antonio International, you will need to rent a car for the 2-½ hour drive south to the ranch. The ranch is approximately 50 miles North of Laredo, Texas. Summary: There are up to 4 spots available on my 6000 acre pasture at the Callaghan Ranch. We have 6 spots taken, including my 3. Two of the other three spots are held by older gentlemen that hunt limited days in a limited number of areas. I honestly believe it will be a banner year. Rainfall has been plentiful and frequent every month of this year. We are several years into a year round protein program as well. We passed on numerous high quality deer on this pasture last year, including a 140 class 3 1/2 year old, several 150 class 4 1/2 year olds and one 160 class 4 1/2 year old. A 180 class 14 point typical mature deer was seen 3 times by knowledgeable members (but not for long enough!).
Our policy on this pasture is that all stands are 1st come, 1st serve, subject of course to the courtesy that the owner of the stand always has first right of refusal. In other words, this would not be one of those deals where the new guy(s) find out that much of the pasture is already "taken". New members would be expected to contribute stands and feeders, although we have quite a few already. There is a very large "L" shaped metal roof pavilion at our camp with ample room for someone to park a trailer or place a house. There is also a nice 2 brm trailer with a shaded deck available for sale, probably in the $4 to $5K range. Members can bring guests, but must hunt with them. Kids are welcome as well (I certainly bring my teenagers), but we do want serious trophy hunters. Each spot is allowed 1 trophy buck (5 1/2 or older) and 2 to 3 management deer (which includes 8 pointers regardless of score on the Callaghan), and of course unlimited hogs, coyotes, etc. The total cost per gun is $8500, which includes $1500 for utilities and the feed program. Not cheap, but if there was ever a year to get in on great hunting potential at a legendary S. Tx ranch, this is it! The 6 existing spots are a very compatible group of mature trophy hunters. It would really be great from my point of view to add a couple of guns from the GHCOF membership such that we could continue to enjoy quiet fellowship with hunters of similar values rather than the typical B.S. that tends to creep into most deer leases.
