B & C Tropohy Whitetail Hunts - Terrell CountySummary: Thanks for your interest in exploring a hunting opportunity with B&C Trophy Hunts. Over the last 30 years, I have hunted quality white-tailed deer, Rio Grande wild turkey, javelina, mule deer, quail, and dove throughout the Trans-Pecos region of Texas. Over the last 10 years, I have been the proprietor of B&C Trophy Hunts and have developed a great hunt package experienced by both Texas hunters and those from other states. Below, you can find more detail on what B&C Trophy Hunts has for you. We cater to both seasoned hunters as well as novices.
The Mitchell Ranch is Terrell County, Texas in the southwestern portion of the state called the Trans-Pecos region. The terrain is rugged canyon country and during deer season, temperature can range from 15 degrees to 85 degrees. The ranch is about 200 miles west of San Antonio, just south of Interstate Hwy. I-10. The property is accessible by highway and all-weather roads. I have set up guidelines that I incorporate into an overall wildlife management prescription for the ranch. I work with two people in the wildlife profession, Dr. Jim Cathey (a former Texas Parks and Wildlife Biologist and now an Assistant Professor with Texas A&M University) and Dr. Andrew DeWoody (an Assistant Professor of Fisheries and Wildlife Genetics at Purdue University), to help map out appropriate management strategies for the ranch. There is a minimal amount of livestock on the ranch reducing forage competition for wildlife. A strict rotational grazing system is in place to further enhance range conditions. A managed harvest and year around feeding plan has greatly enhanced both the quality and numbers of trophy deer on the ranch. Our hunts consist of blind hunting near feeder locations, spot and stalk hunts, safari style hunts, and rattling during the rut. The opportunities for taking a trophy whitetail are very good. Our success rate for the past six years has been near 100%. The only hunters that have not taken good bucks are the ones that were holding out for an exceptional trophy, to better their personal best. The success rate on turkeys has been good. The terrain is very rocky, and there is an abundance of catclaw, prickly pear, yucca, soto, and other desert plants. The steep canyons can often be “rocked”, and deer are often scouted from a vehicle. Archers are welcome! The hunting opportunities on the ranch now consist of trophy Whitetail deer, Javelina, and Rio Grande Turkey. Our hunts are 4-day guided hunts with meals, lodging, and transportation on the ranch furnished. Our guides handle the field dressing and basic processing of the game. We will provide pickup at a regional airport (Midland-Odessa, MAF) and transportation to/from the ranch. Lodging is clean, comfortable, and warm. If needed, air conditioning is available in the bunkhouse. We have an excellent cook, who prepares a variety of meals that our hunters always enjoy. Camp rules and regulations: No drunks. Firearm safety is taken very seriously—no loaded guns in camp. Over 20,000 acres of wildlife habitat! Hunters routinely have shots at over a dozen different bucks during the course of a 4-day hunt. < Previous Page 60 results found Next Page >Showing results 11 through 20
