Its the second night for hunting with HogChaser85, We ve killed 2 hogs so far and as the sun goes down, several pocket pigs, several sows and a boar come wandering in. There are branches in the way of shooting these feral hogs so we watch them for about 6 minutes before shooting. I drop one with a head shot, Chase s rifle miss fires, I shoot a second one on the run and drop her, then we both shoot again and miss. We had our Destroyer Hog Lights ready but these wild pigs came in while it was still fairly light. We took a bit getting down there so it was dark by then. Check out the Hog Hunting Action Y all Enjoy

Weekly migratory bird hunting reports are posted from early September through early February. High Plains Mallard Management Unit Outfitters reported fair to good hunts for ducks on playa lakes and feed lots. Ducks have congregated on warmer feed lot ponds with freezing temperatures. Goose hunting has been good over wheat and plow ground. Snow the past few weeks has encouraged Canadas to feed and lose some of their late season wariness. Larger Canadas have shown recently with freezing temperatures to the north. Snow geese have cooperated at times, mostly with stiff winds and a low ceiling. Some runoff from snow has filled playas, but wet playas remain a premium. Prospects are fair to good. North Zone Duck Duck hunters have taken good numbers of mallards in sloughs, creeks and river bottoms. Colder weather and frozen waterways to the north have encouraged more mallards to cross the state line. Most of Northeast Texas have received good rains the past two weeks, but overall, preci...

Helicopter Hog Hunt

We are now booking helicopter flights for the purpose of controlling feral hog populations in the state of Texas. We have farmers and ranchers with over population of feral hogs which are destroying property and crops. Texas Parks and Wildlife has changed their rules allowing paying shooters to represent the landowners in hiring helicopters to make hog depredation flights in Texas. Our company has helicopters with the capability of carrying multiple shooters for a hog hunt. Our pilots are high time, low level experienced and proficient at finding hogs. If you think you would be interested in experiencing the time of your life shooting hogs from a helicopter, contact us to see if you qualify for a flight. We do not require that you attend a school but you will have to meet certain requirements specified by state and federal regulations. Also, you will receive an extensive briefing about the hunt and safety issues. We charge 100.00 non refundable fee for the briefing and ...

Crossbow Hunting

Bought myself a crossbow the other day and boy I can wait to put an bolt through something. Picked up a Barnett Quad 400 from academy for 349. Came with quiver, 3 bolts, field piont tips and a 4x32 scope. Also installed the hand crank cocking system, which is a huge plus just a little pricey. still havent had a chance to get the scope dialed in but I am hoping to do a bit of shooting over the next few days. Hopefully a sucessful hunt to follow. Thought I would share

West Tx Deer Hunt Day 3

The next morning was one of those kind you dream about in west Texas, 22 degrees, still, clear frost on the ground. We left camp 40 minutes earlier this time to make sure we had time to corn the road and be parked in our spot well before first light. As the sun got bright behind the mountains to the east, we had one doe come out and feed for about an hour about 100 yds away. A young buck came out behind her, and a little while later, a nice but still young 8 point came in to water at the trough by the fence. We saw a couple of bigger bucks cross way down the pipeline clearing, and a nice dark horned 10 point crossed out of range a bit closer. By 10 o clock, we were ready to make a move so we headed down the fence road and turned south onto that long scendero that we first started our hunt on two days earlier. When we got to a small rise in the terrain, I spotted a bunch of deer about 800 yds around one of the troughs. With binocs, you could count 8 10 does, 2 ...

West Tx Deer Hunt Day 1 2

A cool north wind and a clearing sky met us at Iraan, Tx., when we drove in about lunchtime last Sunday. It had been nice seeing all the rain that day, but I planned on getting in the jeep that afternoon so I was glad to see the sun. All the hunt reports had been pretty bleak from the guys in our group coming back after hunting the first week of the mule deer season. Only one mature buck had been seen in the whole 35,000 acres of mountains that we have to hunt, obvious effects of the year long drought. None of which mattered to me yet, though, I was excited to get out and hunt. Ed his son Trey met dad me for lunch in Iraan and we followed them to our lease right after we ate and gassed up the trucks. I went straight from the truck to Ed s jeep and dad left to bring supplies to our camp 35 miles away. We rode all afternoon through the hills and after not seeing a deer, eventually crossing the highway into the greasewood flats where Trey said they d spotted a nice whitetail ...
