Hornady Releases Superperformance 308 Win Match Cartridge

Hornady unveils the next generation of match ammunition the Superformance 308 Win 178 gr BTHP Match. Achieving 2,775 feet per second from a SAAMI spec 24 test barrel, this new load is approximately 175 fps FASTER than any comparable commercial load available today Topped with the NEW 178 gr BTHP Match bullet featuring a .530 ballistic coefficient, this Superformance offering provides industry leading ballistic performance. The new 178 grain BTHP Match bullet was purpose built, and optimized specifically for the 308 Winchester chamber. It features an aggressive ogive as well as an extremely efficient boat tail that makes this projectile highly effective aerodynamically, yield less wind drift and allows the shooter to obtain flatter trajectories. Accuracy results were excellent. We shot a .680 group at 200 yards with our test equipment, and field tests out to 1250 yards yielded 8 inch, not 8 MOA, but 8 inch total circumferential groups.
Tips on How to Safetly Introduce Children to Firearms

My five year old daughter had been eyeballing the long, rectangular package under the Christmas tree all morning. So when she was finally able to start shredding the wrapping paper that covered it and saw the pink Daisy BB gun on the box cover, she was excitedly shocked. Weird enough, I saw the same expression on the faces of several friends and co workers when I told them that my daughter would be getting a gun for Christmas. Their comments were all very similar Why would you give your kid a gun The word gun has become a lightning rod in today s popular culture. School shootings, office killing sprees, and hunting accidents have driven most non hunting families to question whether guns are needed at all on a recreational basis. Safety is a primary concern for anyone who owns a gun and is the main reason why I wanted my daughter to start learning how to responsibly own and handle a firearm at a young age. I can also currently control her access to firearms in my own home, a...

A neighbor of my friends is a lefty of sorts Obama bumper stickers, gung ho socialized medicine, guns should be banned , etc. . So this past spring he put this sign up in his yard after one of his anti gun rants at a neighborhood cocktail party. The sign wasn t up more than an hour before he called the police and wanted them to make him take down the sign. Fortunately, the officer politely informed him that it was not their job to take such action without a court order and that he had to file a complaint downtown first, which would be reviewed by the city attorney to see if it violated any city, county, or state ordinances, which if there was a violation a court order would be sent to the offending party which would be me to remove the sign in seven days . After several weeks he was informed that the sign was legal by a quarter of an inch and there was nothing the city could do, which obviously made him madder. He tried to smooth things over by inviting him to go shooti...
