Off Road Electric Vehicle Product Review Bad Boy Buggies vs Trail Hog If you are looking for a quiet vehicle to drive around your property, then you most likely should learn about the choices of Off Road Electric Vehicles. There are several vendors who make custom golf carts, and then there are those who make Off Road Electric Vehicles. For this Product Review, we decided to put the Trail Hog and Bad Boy Buggies to the test. The concept is right on the money a stealth vehicle designed to handle the rigors of hunting and fishing with the power and stamina to handle most off road situations without the noise. These machines have tremendous torque because of their electric motors and yet do not make any more noise going up a steep hill than on flat ground. If you have driven a Mule, Ranger, or other gas powered off road vehicle, you are aware that when going up a steep incline you have to rev the engine loud. This undoubtedly sacrifices your stealth mode. If you are lookin...

Does Hunting Deer With A Silencer Matter To You

I ve been thinking about this proposed regulation that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is considering allow hunters to use silencers and sound suppressors on rifles to hunt deer. I m not sure how I feel about it. I already use a silenced firearm for whitetails. It s called a bow. The real discussion is about rifles altered so that the sound is mostly silenced or suppressed. None of the silencers I m familiar with are totally silent. And all of them compromise the speed and power of the bullet. When you fire a rifle, the bullet leaves the barrel at something in excess of 1,100 feet per second faster than the speed of sound. That crack you hear is basically a small sonic boom. To eliminate that portion of the noise, the velocity of the bullet has to be reduced within the gun, and that impacts the hunter s effective range. It s a matter of physics. The proposal that Texas Parks and Wildlife commissioners have sent to the Texas Register for public comment actu...

crockett county lease

I have a 4200 acre lease in crockett county 16 miles north west of ozona, texas. We have managed this property for the past 5 yrs and have had good results. I need 10 hunters, guest are allowed with restrictions. However if I cannot fill the full lease than we can divide the lease and hunter requirements. There are a lot of deer and turkey, the quail are having a hard time due to drought conditions. The camping area has water and electricity, electric bill will be split between all paying hunters after season. The country is heavy cedar and misquite w rolling country and a wet weather draw that runs thru the middle of the property. The land owner has told me that the property was stocked with south texas deer in the 60 s and at one time had the largest deer in the county. The genetics are there and we have seen trophy class deer each year we have hunted the lease. I need to have commited hunters by April in order to hold this property, I know the land owner and he has told me that he ...

What is the future of Quail Hunting In Texas

Texas Parks and Wildlife commissioners decided Wednesday they don t have enough information to make decisions about the future of quail hunting in Texas. Quail populations have been in a steady decline of about 2.8 percent per year for four decades, upland game bird program leader Robert Perez told members of the commission s regulations committee. The decline is symptomatic of a habitat problem, Perez said. To address the current situation, state quail managers recommended that commissioners adopt a new set of regulations that would create two quail zones, a shorter hunting season and a reduced bag limit in part of the state. One of the zones would be in the east part of the state and would have a 5 bird daily bag limit. The other zone would be in the west and would retain a 15 bird per day limit. The hunting season in both zones would close at the end of January rather than late February. CLICK HERE to read the rest of the story. What do you think the future of Quail Hunti...
