Haskell County and the surrounding counties have some the highest populations of WILD Bobwhite Quail. The quail hunt is a half day hunt with dogs. The hunters have the opportunity to ride on ATV Mules or walk behind the dogs. We like to have a minimum of 3 hunters or parties of 3 if riding.

The Collinsworth County area has always been know for its outstanding quail hunting. The ranch is no exception and historically has been host to a large population of bobwhite quail. With the ranch ranging from open grass, heavy shinnery, sage and stands of oak, the birds are provided with ample natural cover. In addition feed is provided through the use of quail feeders during the difficult months in order to insure a viable breeding stock for the spring. Hunting is not done over any feeder as they are provided only to assist the birds on the ranch when times get tough. As with the area in general, previous drought years severely impacted the quail population. The spring of 2007 however was ideal with abundant moisture, grass, and food stocks which has lead to a resurgence of the population. Census work done during the late fall of 2007 and early winter months of 2008 has shown our population of between 3 and 4 coveys per quarter section. All the coveys encountered contained 20 or...

Southern Cross Ranch is offering guided whitetail deer hunts , just an hour North of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex Southern Cross Ranch , just Northwest of Gainesville, Texas, is over 4500 acres of Oak canyons, bluffs, and upland prairies bordering on the Historic Red River. The Deer on this ranch have been lightly hunted by family and friends for the past 10 years. The Harvest of Trophy bucks has not been allowed. Management hunts have produced the good Whitetail Bucks that are pictured mounted on the walls on this site. It has been intensively managed with the help of Texas Parks and Wildlife to possess some great Deer , Turkey and Quail. This ranch is a participant in the level III managed lands permit, which gives us a longer season, and the ability to be more flexible in the amount of animals harvested. This Ranch, all low fenced, was blest by nature with the topography and geography to be a natural habitat and haven for wildlife, ...

For over thirty years Sindomar Ranch has provided hunters across the country with memorable outings. Located in Del Rio, Texas we maintain over 1400 acres of dense hill country terrain surrounded by a nine foot high game proof fence. That the success of a hunt is not solely measured by the quality of trophy harvested but also by the camaraderie and adventure which make the whole experience something to treasure in later years is something we understand. Home cooked traditional meals, fireside socializing, and new friendships are some of the features which make our hunters feel like they were treated special and not just as another customer to be catered to and then forgotten. However, let s not forget the trophies. Throughout the past ten years Sindomar Ranch has put considerable resources and commitment towards attaining a reputation for harvesting outstanding animals of a diverse variety of species. The fruits of this effort have resulted in many entries into the Thompson Temple R...
