I received these photos and story that I wanted to share with everyone. I can not verify the story, but regardless of a new world record, this is a big pig New World Record Weiser Weight Tusk Free Range Boar 885 Points, 630 lbs Here is the story Justin was called by a friend about a hog that was in a pasture. He estimated that it was 300lbs. Justin gathered his dogs and drove out alone. After setting out the first two dogs, Lady and Winter, it wasn t long until they were on the trail. Justin heard Lady trying to catch and set Sally catch dog loose. Justin wasn t prepared for what he was about to encounter. As he came around the corner, Sally was being thrown through a fence, and Lady was tossed up 4 foot in the air. Then he went from trying to catch the hog to trying to save his dogs. After several stitches and 15 staples to Lady, Justin went to work and gathered more guys and dogs. And something more than a pair of hobbles Later that night after much plann...

rwg15, Although I disagree with your comments and conclusions, we here at TexasHuntFish.com want our forum to entertain the full spectrum of opinions. Your more recent posts have departed from an attempt to express an unpopular opinion, and become non educational, non informative jabs for lack of a better word. Respected members of our forum have also responded with comments that do not contribute to the eduational value of this thread. As a result, with an effort to honor people s opinions, we have deleted a number of comments from a number of members in this thread. IF YOU DON T HAVE SOMETHING INFORMATIVE TO SAY, PLEASE DON T RESPOND WITH PERSONAL ATTACKS THAT ADD NO VALUE. Couple of points I wanted to make In Texas, the landowner does NOT own the wildlife on the land. The industry of Deer Farming did not start in Texas and is not unique to Texas. People profit from wildlife in many ways more than hunting. Animal Planet, National Geographic, and every grocery and pet sto...

The TexasHuntFish.com Staff met to discuss the Reward Points System and propose changes for 2008. We started this contest as a fun way to encourage everyone to create a stronger community of hunters and anglers who are willing to share their knowledge and help each other. As we reviewed the Top 100 Members , we realized that some of the current point values do not fairly reflect our focus on quality hunting and fishing content. It s easy to go through and make one word comments or to click a star to rate an image, but it is so much more valuable to be a member who contributes and initiates good content on the site. We will continue to recognize the Most Points Winner each month, and give that person a 100 gift card. Please note A member cannot win the Top Points Winner Gift Card 2 months in a row. Rather than give monthly gift cards to only three people each month, we thought it would be a great idea to organize a series of group trips this year. We would love to ...

If you go to a hunting or fishing event, take mental notes and don t forget your camera We will be rewarding 500 BONUS POINTS to any member who writes about their experience, and includes at least 10 photos with descriptions or comments, from the event.

Outdoor Journal Entry Contest Winner is NOT based on Member Ratings We choose our favorite story, among the five of us, and yes, we do read members comments. However, we also have noticed a number of people rating certain entries with one star even though all of the comments are positive. The only conclusion we can come to is that maybe people think by down rating one entry over the other, that this will effect who we choose as the winner. Yes, you earn points for rating. But please rate what you really think. Of course, if that means you really think it is ONE STAR, then please RATE IT ONE STAR.
