Building future hunters

I currently hunt in Val Verde County and have done so with the same rancher for 13yrs. We are fortunate to be able to bring our families on to the lease where our kids learn to enjoy hunting and the outdoors. Recently, I have been looking for a lease in the South Texas Region for me and a friend and have found several promising leases, but the problem is, alot of them do not allow children or wives. How can land owner not want the children involved I believe the average age of today s hunter is in the 40 s. if Children are not interduced to hunting, who is going to pay the land owner in the future I am willing to pay an above average price for a lease, but only if my sons can enjoy it too. We have to bring our kids to build future hunters. I guess this is frustrating sign of the times. ALL ABOUT THE MONEY Hunt with your kids not for them.

East Texas Hunting Lease

Hey guys, I am looking for a hunting lease in East Texas for the 2010 season. I have reviewed a few online and looked at a couple in Tyler county but have not found anything that really looks good. Does anybody know anything about Boggy Slough Hunting Club I have a 13 year old son and we have been hunting West Texas for several years but it seems every year the price is getting higher and higher. I don t really need a place that you see 10 to 15 deer every hunt or a 140 class deer but more of a place to take my son and be able to take a couple of does and maybe a decent buck that he could take. I grew up hunting the piney woods and miss the hardwood bottoms, squirrel hunting, shooting wood ducks and chasing them hogs around. Any help on a East Texas lease accepting members that welcomes children would be appreciated. MPO

This ol country boy from Ethel, Louisiana needs some help. I am looking for a place to turkey hunt in Texas. I want it to be a do it yourself at a reasonable price. No guides, no babysitting, just show me the property lines and let me go. Wanted to find somewhere by word of mouth by someone who knows someone or has had a good experience. I don t feel like traveling across Texas to look at a turkey lease. This does not have to be for this season I want to line up something and establish a relationship to be able to plan a trip every year. Any information would be greatly appreciated. You can email me any info. Thanks.

WATER PUMP ISSUE

The cabin on the lease has sinks, shower, and toilet but no water. We have to get the water from a nearby stream. We installed a 350 gallon storage tank next to the cabin, and a pressure pump inside the cabin to give us at least 50 psi at all the faucets, etc. The problem is getting the water from the stream to the tank. The cabin is about 150 from the stream, and about 30 higher than the streambed. Does anyone know the cheapest way to pump the water from the stream to the tank at that distance and elevation

We just got a lease about 12 miles west of Utopia. It s in a deep canyon with a spring fed creek running through it. We ve been down there a couple of times and we ve seen Axis, Fallow, and Blackbuck. There are also signs of hog and Aoudad. A guy from an ajoining lease said there are a few elk there, also. We haven t seen any whitetail, yet, but who knows. With the exotics there, it s no big deal. I m just wondering if anyone has hunted that area, and knows more about the whitetails in the area. Do they compete with the other exotics for forage

We have a chance at a lease in Sterling County that we are going to look at it this next week. It is about three sections in good country. My question about this place is that it has high fence around some of it. I don t know if it is on one, two, or three sides, but was just looking for anyone who has had a lease that adjoined a high fence place to let me know what they thought. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking for S. Texas Lease

Howdy, I am looking for a lease back in S. Texas. My group of hunters decided we would go try the Hill Country for two years, and we want back south. We are a group of 6 8 christian men who are management minded. We are willing to feed protein and help grow and maintain a deer herd. We are looking for something where we can take family and guests who would hunt with us and only kill off of our tags if we allowes them to. Most of us are from the College TSation area and I am Fightin Texas Aggie class of 2001. If anyone hears of anything or if you have an opportunity that I might find appealing, you can respond on this thread or email me at clistpam gmail.com . Thanks, and GigEm
