Hog shot placement

I hunt with a bow and have shot two hogs this year that I didn t find. Both shots looked to be good shots but I followed blood of both for several hundred yards before it rained and dark set in. Does anyone have any Hog Anatomy diagrams they could pass along. I saw one on the internet and according to it my shots were in the lung area. Thanks for any response guys.

UTOPIA AREA

We just got a lease about 12 miles west of Utopia. It s in a deep canyon with a spring fed creek running through it. We ve been down there a couple of times and we ve seen Axis, Fallow, and Blackbuck. There are also signs of hog and Aoudad. A guy from an ajoining lease said there are a few elk there, also. We haven t seen any whitetail, yet, but who knows. With the exotics there, it s no big deal. I m just wondering if anyone has hunted that area, and knows more about the whitetails in the area. Do they compete with the other exotics for forage

Helicopter Hog Hunting

Now this is a hog hunting roundup. These folks killed around 100 pigs during their weekend helicopter hunt. It s still amazing to me how many of hunts like this go on around Texas and yet STILL the pig population never seems to let up

Hog Growling

I have been hunting hogs fairly frequently for the past few years in a heavy hog populated area. I have heard many sounds from hogs when eating, rooting, fighting, and playing. This past weekend, late night, I was in a small tent type ground stand. I had put out some boar attractant and some sow in heat attractant to cover my scent they have never attracted a hog . Without a single sound of approach, I heard a hog growl like a dog, very deep and very angry sounding. He was on my blind side and I could not see him clearly, but he was a large one, just outside my stand. He walked around growling for a couple of minutes and then gave a grunt and left. Has anyone ever heard a hog growl before
