SCHOOLING STRIPER AT TEXOMA Guide Bill Carey with Striper Express www.striperexpress.com reports lots of action on schooling stripers. Binoculars are the fisherman s best friend right now. We have huge flocks of sea gulls pointing the way to the action. Soft plastics worked just below the surface is the best bait when the stripers have shad driven to the top but we re still catching some big stripers on top water plugs such as the bone colored saltwater Chug Bug and Pencil Popper during the first 30 minutes of daylight in shallow water. tips Carey. Contact Bill Carey at 877 786 4477. REDFISH BITE STEADY AT LAKE FAIRFIELD Guide Cory Vinson with Guaranteed Guide Service www.nofishnocharge.com says the redfish bite couldn t be better. We re enjoying lots of action on fish in the 18 19 inch range and for the past few weeks, boating at least one redfish over 20 pounds. I m expecting the big fish bit to intensify as the weather continues to get colder. says Vinson. Cut bait ...

Halloween Trivia It s for the children...

I am subscribed to The Women s Outdoor Wire , and this week they sent some fun trivia questions that I m sure your kids will enjoy... Question What deepwater denizen lives at depths of 3,000 feet or more, deep in the abyss where no light penetrates Looking like something that swam out of a late night science fiction movie, for its size, it has the largest eyes proportionately of any animal in the world. Its body is covered with a remarkable series of light producing organs photophores that give it the ability to essentially turn itself on or off at will. When its lights are off, it is completely invisible in the dark waters where it lives. When threatened, this animal draws its 10 webbed arms which are covered with sharp tooth like spikes up over itself to form a defensive cape that covers its body, giving it an appearance resembling Count Dracula. Answer VAMPIRE SQUID scientific name, Vampyroteuthis infernalis, translates to Vampire Squid From Hell. This creatur...

How Wide is He

First off given away free hunts when you work has hard as Hardy has I don t believe that would be right and I would not accept one. He has worked to manage his land and his photos prove that he has been successful in his endeavor. And the fact that he can make money off of his land means that it will not be sold off and subdivided like many other ranches have been. If any thing I hope he makes more money and is able to increase the size of his property. That way it insures that there will be undeveloped land with wildlife on it in the future. I think that Subdividing land is the biggest threat to Texas hunting. In the time that I have lived in this county almost a third of the open ranch land has been subdivided into 10 acre or smaller plots. Some having houses others having double wide pre manufactured homes. That is something that really scares me. Back to the free hunt issue you also have to consider time, fuel to get to the place and back as well as a host of other iss...
