HCO ScoutGuard SG550 Scouting Camera
The HCO ScoutGuard SG550 Game Camera is great for hunting and animal observation. We set up this camera and a comparable Wildview Game Camera side by side, targeting the same protein feeder, with the intent of getting almost identical pictures to compare quality. One week later we returned to the feeder to find both cameras and the external battery pack for the Wildview Game Camera stolen.
BigFoot Gear Bag Review
Dan Kamrath sent us a small camo, a medium cargo, and a large gear bag to use in the field. They have been in the back of our vehicles since. Here in Texas, beyond the ethics of hunting, we also have laws that enforce the proper care and handling of harvested game animals. The Bigfoot Bag has been perfect to transport a deer from the killing field to the ranch house down a long and dusty road; and even transport a field dressed deer from the ranch to the meat processor with bags of ice packed in the body cavity. If you read no further, at least visit www.BigFootBag.com to learn more.
Cabela's Deluxe Tent Cot
The Cabela's Tent-Cot is heavier and more awkard than a regular tent, but it is much faster and easier to set up and take down, and you have the added pleasure of being off the ground.
Off-Road Magnetics Inc., introduces TrailSkinz™ by Ron Rutherford
Many people who love to hunt and fish drive through moments of rough conditions when they wish they had something to protect the paint job on their truck. Unlike me, many people clean off their truck Sunday afternoon to get it ready to drive to work Monday morning. Knowing this, a friend of a friend introduced me to Ron Rutherford, who has started a business called, "Off-Road Magnetics Inc." Their slogan is, "Let TrailSkinz™ take the abuse so your paint doesn't have to!"
BOG-POD Shooting Sticks by BOGgear.com
I met James Lucero at the Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) Annual Banquet in June of 2007. During our travels across Texas – from tradeshows and banquets, to private ranches and passionate guides - we occasionally stumble upon a great product that we want to share with our audience. BOG-POD is one of those finds. Like most reviews we write, we spend a lot of time in the field testing these products in an effort to write an honest review based on our experience.
Elcan Digital Hunter Rifle Scope Product Review
DigitalHunter™ DayNight Digital Riflescope by ELCAN Optical Technologies ELCAN Optical Technologies has a rifle scope with a built in camera/video recorder that photographs or videos automatically when you pull the trigger – or can be used to take a picture or video of what you are looking through your scope without pulling the trigger.
Wildview Xtreme II 2.0 MP Scouting Camera Product Review
I have owned and operated five of these cameras over the last 18 months. They have been in the field probably 50% of the time, regardless of weather conditions. At the end of the day, for $99 when I bought them ($79 now), they are a good camera for what I need. “What I need” of course is the critical part of that sentence.
Meade CaptureView Binoculars Product Review
Bottom line: Unsatisfactory for wildlife viewing and photography. I would absolutely not recommend this product, regardless of the price. I was so excited to get home and open the box. Packaging was professional, directions were simple, camera functions are pretty obvious, and all the cables, neck strap, belt carrying case and software were in the box. Then I got out in the field to watch a whitetail doe and two fawns come in to the feeder and my excitement turned to sadness.

3D Post "NO TRESPASSING"
As a land owner or lessee you have time and money into your private property, the last thing you need to worry about is trespassers, trespassing onto your property. The old way of posting your property border by no trespassing signs on trees or tires is out and the 3D Post is in. Let the 3D Post be your personal border patrol. Post your land today with the 3D Post, “the sign that says stay-off”.
Best GPS/Radio Gadget = Garmin Rhino 530
The Garmin Rhino 530 is one of my favorite tools to carry in the field. Not only is it a wonderful GPS, but it is also a 14 mile range (5 Watt) walkie talkie, NOAA weather radio, Solunar Table, Sunrise/Sunset Table, and when talking to other people carrying an integrated GPS/Radio from Garmin, you can see each other on the screen without having to break silence.
MOKAI Ultimate Explorer
Imagine a Kayak with a Honda engine. Paddle down stream. Motor upstream. Get tired, turn on the engine and go 15 mph for up to 8 hrs.
ATV Cattle Guard & Fence Crossing
I was visiting a ranch owned by Mr. Germer recently. As we drove a Polaris Ranger around the ranch we approached a fence line with a gate. I noticed he wasn't slowing down and since I was busy looking around, I didn't realize until the last minute that to the left of the gate there was an opening in the fence.
The Best Subsonic Load (.308)
I have tried many different .308 loads in search of that almost perfect factory load. Of course, when I say "almost perfect factory load" that is because I know if you handload you can make an even more "almost perfect load." Then, I decided to try to test two brands of subsonic ammo. I bought a box from a company called "Engle Ballistics" at the local high-end gun store where I bought the Remington 700P and John's Gun suppressor. It was over $40/box. I was so excited going out to the ranch and I was so frustrated with the results. I couldn't get a shot better than 1.5" at 100 yards. Compared to the performance from the Federal MatchKing load, I knew the gun could perform, I just had to find the right bullet.

Bench Master "The Cadillac of Rifle Rests" Review
Bench Master "The Cadillac of Rifle Rests" Review The following targets were shot at 200 yards. I was very impressed with how steady the gun was held, how firm it was braced, and literally no recoil was felt. Three shot grouping at 200 yards can't really get better in my opinion.
Having fun with a high-caliber steel target
Having fun with a high-caliber steel target I have never seen a high-caliber steel target that flips back and forth. When I saw one recently at Cabela's, I bought it immediately. Watch the video if you want to see/hear my comments.
