StringTamer GII Review
StringTamer™ GII Review By Jeremy Flinn, Wildlife Biologist and Buckscore GM As a recently graduated college student, I’m still swimming in student loan debt after 7 years in the University system. So “economical” has an extra strong meaning for me. In 2006, I purchased my first new bow in 10 years a reasonably priced Bear Archery® Element. This bow made my original look like a plastic long bow shooting rubber-tipped darts. I had a lot more confidence in my shot selection and distance. As the years went on, the Bear bow got a little louder. It still shot great and although I never had a deer “jump the string,” I didn’t want to have a first incident. I put in LimbSaver® SIMS and string leeches, which did help, but there was still an obvious “twang” after every shot. I got a new string put on this year, and while doing so came across the StringTamer™ GII. As a professional biologist, I am skeptical about a lot of new products in the hunting industry, but when it comes to equipment I’m willing to try things. The set up was a little more than expected, requiring a hacksaw to trim the rod. But I completed the job within 15 minutes. Like Christmas morning I was anxious to shoot the new and improved bow. When I took my first shot I couldn’t even comprehend the difference (I was shooting at 15 yards into a brand new target). However, I could definitely tell on the next 4 that the reduction in vibration and noise was unreal. Even though I was only shooting at 15 yards, I could tell that the bow was shooting tighter groups as I almost “Robin Hooded” some of my arrows and did strip one of the arrow’s fletching off. For just under $60, the StringTamer™ GII has revitalized the life of my Bear Archery® Element. I feel that original confidence boost that I felt the day I bought it.

The Rear Mount StringTamer will shrink as small as 4.25 inches and stretch to a full 8 1/8 inches. You should measure that span on your bow to ensure this model will fit appropriately. -Any Lab Test Now Franchise
