Cabela's Deluxe Tent Cot
Yes, the Cabela's Tent-Cot is heavier and more awkard than a regular tent, but it is much faster and easier to set up and take down, and you have the added pleasure of being off the ground. I have used this product over the past couple of years on several hunting trips. If you are comparing this to being alone in a tent with a sleeping bag, there is no competition, assuming you don't have far to walk. It is about as awkard to carry as a bag of corn, which to most of us means less than 50 yards. The zippered door on the fly converts to an awning if you use the poles and guy ropes. There's one end door, one side door and two windows on the single model. The windows and dual-track doors have No-See-Um mesh and the heavy-duty zippers have reflective pulls. The crack-resistant roof window lets you fall asleep under the stars. On the inside, there is plenty of room for my 6' 4", 215 lbs to lay without my head or feet touching either end. I was surprised at how large and comfortable the interior space was, including the convenience of cup holders and an organizer panel to keep your flashlight and bottle of water close at hand. The Tent-Cot is available in a single-person or a double version that is ideal for couples or Brett Valdez sleeping by himself :-) Single - 32"W x 84"L x 36"H. 300-lb. capacity. Carry weight: 39 lbs. Double - 53"W x 84"L x 36"H. 450-lb. capacity. Carry weight: 56 lbs. The tent body is 70-denier, 190T nylon taffeta with a 600-denier polyester floor supported by a heavy-duty, powder-coated steel frame. Both models include a full-coverage fly made of 75-denier, 190T polyester taffeta with a 1,500mm waterproof-rated coating, meaning you stay dry regardless of conditions. A patent-pending rain-gutter system on the fly channels water off and away from zippers, and seams are fully taped for maximum protection. Both models fold up and include a zippered storage bag.
