Bad Idea
Category: Fishing

It is important to be prepared when fishing. Sometimes, because we are fishing within sight of land, especially when fishing in a bay system, we slack on safety. This person did the right thing and stopped to ride the storm out. Some boats tried to make port.

Really bad idea. Notice the exposed rocks.

Been there done that, got lost one time in Trinity Bay before GPS. Didn't have the sense to anchor down and ride it out. We were in a big enough boat. Ended up in Galveston Bay going out the ship channel by the time the mist lifted. Couldn't figure out where the devil we were. Found out over 20 miles away. We had put in at Crawly's at Tri-City Beach. Lord was definitely watching over us cause on our way back we met several large ships going out the channel. Lucky we didn't come across one of them in the mist.
