As a former college athlete I offer a word of caution.  The NCAA frowns upon gifts and gratuity to athletes.  Such well intended and seemingly harmless gifts can cause big time head aches for athletes and their schools.  You might want to talk it over with Coach Brown before extending an offer and make sure that no NCAA rules are being violated.
