I was turkey hunting this past spring, and one of these fed on the ground right in front of me for about an hour. I was amazed at how pretty the bird was, and tried to look it up, but never found it.

Now I know.

Absolutely...beautiful bird.  I've never see one of these in the wild, but have seen a cousin Indigo Bunting, and those are gorgeous too.

We have seen many of them in southwest edwards county as well
