Texas -

2010 is a critical election year for conservation in Texas, and the City of Houston is a key battleground for electing candidates who stand for clean air, clean water, and open spaces.  To help support these candidates, please join the Texas League of Conservation Voters and newly elected Houston Mayor and Conservation Champion Annise Parker on Thursday, April 29.

The Texas League of Conservation Voters will be fighting to re-elect State House Representatives from Houston who received an A+ on our 2009 Legislative Scorecard and who are facing tough re-election battles -- as well as getting rid of dirty legislators who got an F.  From the threat of the proposed White Stallion Coal Plant which would pollute Houston's air, to the need to protect Houston's parks, wetlands, and bays, Houstonians cannot afford elected officials who are not strong on conservation.

TLCV is currently seeking host committee members for our April 29 event starting at sponsorship levels of $250.  The event will be held in Houston at the home of TLCV-supporter Patsy Cravens.  To help re-elect pro-conservation candidates in Houston, and to join Mayor Parker on April 29, please contact TLCV's Development Director, Emily Williams by responding to this email or calling 512-477-4424.
