COLUMBIA, S.C. -

With a host of entrants, the 4th annual Berkley Big Bass Challenge on Lake Fork saw a record turnout with 747 anglers. Fishing exclusively with Berkley baits, anglers weighed in fish hourly at the chance to claim cash prizes and the opportunity to win one of two Skeeter boats.

"This is a great event where amateur anglers can fish in a big-time tournament without professional anglers," said Andrew Marks, Sr. Marketing Manager for Berkley. "We had a record number of angler come out to support the event and had some fun in the meantime. The Berkley Big Bass Challenge was a great success and this type of event shows everyday anglers that any Berkley bait can and will Catch More Fish."

While Berkley baits were putting on the show, Bob Roberts and Jimmy Qualls stole the show as each of them walked away winners of two new Skeeter boats. Roberts' big 8.96-pound bass was the top fish taken during the event and Qualls' 3.08-pound best under keeper, which earned him bragging rights and a nice new rig.

The Berkley Experience Trailer was on hand to support the Lake Fork Tackle Store and offered product demonstrations along with interactive components. Additionally rods, reels line and tools were showcases to the anglers. The trailer also stopped at Gander Mountain and Bass Pro in the weeks prior to the event.

Plans are already underway to make the 5th Annual Berkley Big Bass Challenge big and better, including a new youth event to let kids have a shot at their own prizes.
