Now for the turkeys...

Went after the Osceolas first with good friend John Galberry down in Arcadia, FL.  We only had two mornings to hunt, but made the most of it with an awesome double on the second morning.

Next, my main turkey hunting buddy Billy Rhodes & I took birds in North Florida and South Georgia and showed no mercy on the gobblers racking up 6 over the next week or so between us.

Finished it up in Texas with a couple of really nice Rios to bring the tally to 7 taken by me and 4 more taken by hunting partners (I'd just as soon call 'em in as pull the trigger).

Now the question is, do I try to finish out the grand slam this year or not?

Pics start with the Osceolas and end with the Rio.

Nice job on those Osceola's. You could get up to Nebraska and whack a Merriam pretty easity. Why not and say you did? I got my first Osceola hunting with a buddy around the Ocala area. How far is that from where you were?

We were quite a bit south...about 45 minutes or so south of Lakeland.

We're heading to Kansas to scout and turkey hunt our lease in a few weeks...seems foolish not to go just a bit farther and try to get the last one.
