Hammock making tutorial

Here are detailed instructions for making and testing your very own hammock that will make you proud.
First I chose some camo toe-sack material (jute) cuz that is what wuz on hand. Second, I sewed a double hem on the sides and hemmed the ends. Third, Threaded some stout braided trotline cord through both hems on the sides cuz I had that on hand too. Wow , here it was all finished so I hurried outside to the carport and tied one end (two cords) to one post and the other end to another post. Next came the critical part of testing to see if the cords will hold. Sitting down very carefully I sank down almost to the ground which was a good thing if the cords should break it would not be far to fall. The cords held okay. I shifted around putting my feet into the hammock and the thing just sort of closed up on me with one quick motion the hammock sliding along the sides similar to pulling the drawstrings on a sack and here I sit with my butt barely off the ground unable to move. Trapped in my on driveway and my wife in the other end of the house and doesn't have a clue about what a fix her claustrophobic prone hubby is in. I think about cutting something loose so I try to get to my pocketknife to no avail. Also tried for my cell phone with equal results. Next I tried calling out for help. No one came. Well, assessing the problem I made one desperate attempt to raise one leg high enough which was already up pretty high to get it over the line on one side and succeeded to get it over up to the knee and it was a matter of rolling parts of me over the side until I finally got loose from that thing.
Back to the drawing board. After sewing the cords to the material so that it couldn't slide at all it worked very well. I used it on my South Texas hunt. It is comfortable to use when you tire from sitting on a stool. Next time I will try to get the wife to do the testing while I stand by to asses and assist. LOL
