I took my friend Cody and my son on our annual December hunting trip. Our goal was to hunt ducks and try and get Cody a managment buck. Unfortunately, the weather this week did not participate with warm weather and high winds. We only saw a few doe on our deer hunts, but we did manage to do pretty well hunting ducks over the past few days.

Many beverages and "duck nuggets" were consumed around the campfire over the past 3 days.

The windy and overcast conditions worked well for hunting ducks. Although we did not see huge numbers of ducks like we have the past few weeks, we did get a steady stream of singles and doubles that did work our spread. We shot a mixed bag of Pintail, Green Wing Teal, Wigeon, Ringnecks, and Scaup. My friends Laird and Chase joined us for the 29th hunt, and everyone shot well. Not many opportunities were wasted.

Great few days and nothing better than spending time with friends.
