Without question, water is a very valuable resource in our great state.  Below are very useful links with data on Texas lake levels and local rainfall totals.

National Weather Service

LCRA (Lower Colorado River Authority)

LCRA plays a variety of roles in Central Texas: delivering electricity, managing the water supply and environment of the lower Colorado River basin, developing water and wastewater utilities, providing public recreation areas, and supporting community and economic development.  One such role which is usually of great interest to the public includes rainfall totals throughout central Texas.

The information displayed on the link below provides information on river and precipitation amounts within the past 24 hours for the lower Colorado River watershed.  The data comes from LCRA's network of remote gauges, most of which have no public access.

LCRA Hydrologic Data

The information that is contained on the link to LCRA's Hydromet System allows you to select one of eight map locations  which range from the Upper Northeast region near Abilene to the Highland Lakes area to the City of Austin and down to the Gulf Coast .  The information provided is 'real-time' information concerning Stream Flow, lake levels, recent rainfaill amounts, and temperatures throughout the basin.
