What a wonderful time of year for fishermen!  The cooler weather makes hunters think of thier next hunt, and creates many enjoyable days to be spent on the water.  The rivers are still warm and comfortable to float and wade.  The past days have been spent on the San Marcos chasing bass in the slow moving currents.  The fish are active and seeking food throughout the day time.  There's no need to be throwing gargatuan (sp?) flies most of the day, though it is fun in the slow deep pools so i lways bring a big fly rod along!  Instead I'm using smaller patterns that trout fishers would call large scarylooking nymphs.  Keep the good weather going and soon it will be trout fishing.
