I'm writing a review on Stren 20lb DuraTuf Fishing Line.

I bought a few boxes of this in February and have been using it ever since.  Not always 20lb, sometimes less.  This line helped me catch a lot of big fish at the first of the year when I was jig fishing a lot more.

I was fishing in some nasty stuff sometimes.  The line did not fray up much at all.  I did retie everytime I caught one over five or so, just to be safe.  I never had one break my line yet this year using the Stren line.

I have always fished with Stren original, but I like this better. Most people use braided line jig fishing.  I, personally, don't fish braid very often unless I'm in really thick stuff all day.

For standing timber and submerged brushpiles I will still fish mono.  If you havent tried any of this line, try it.  I was and still am more than satisfied by the quality, durabililty, and reliability of Stren Products.  So, try it and let me know what you think or let me know your experiences with it.

Glad you have good luck with Stren. I have not been so lucky with their mono. I love the braid but it is pricey. The last time and I do mean LAST time I used their mono I broke-off EVERY fish on the first day of a fishing tournament. (3 were over 5 and 1 monster that could have pushed 15) I have not used their mono in years now. I tried the following monos this year and I'm not happy with either. They are P-line and Gamma. The P-line spooled 1 reel and I was very pleased. However on the next reel from the same spool the line was failing 50% of the time. I don't know why the difference was so profound. I used some Gamma flourocarbon and It failed more that it worked. I would have trout break the line about 80% of the time.

I wrote both manufacturers and got no response or intrest into why this pricey mono does not work. Come-on the light drag required for trout fishing should not come close to punishing 17 lb. flourocarbon. That is why I am still using the trilene big game. It does not fail me.
