Overview:

Ranger Creek Ranch is one of the few Ranches in West Texas that offers free-range Aoudad Sheep Hunting. Our ranches in Knox County are located on mesas surrounded by cedar breaks and canyons some 200 feet below. This is perfect habitat for the Aoudad Sheep. The Aoudad Sheep live in this habitat year round only coming out of the canyons during the winter to feed on the small grain fields. Aoudad Sheep are very habitual, but this does not make the stalk easy on the hunter when on a Aoudad Hunt. These Aoudad Sheep have very keen senses.

At Ranger Creek Ranch, we have viewed Aoudad herds with animals numbering as large as 50 per group. Among these herd animals are several trophy-sized and possibly even state record rams.

Ranger Creek Ranch can provide Guided Texas Aoudad Hunts to clients interested in pursuing the wary Aoudad Sheep. The client may also choose to hunt alone when Aoudad Hunting . The Ranger Creek Ranch Aoudad herd is heavily managed and only a few Texas Aoudad Hunts are offered each year. The slots for these spots book quickly, so please book your Aoudad Hunt early.

Overview:

Ranger Creek Ranch is one of the few ranches in Texas that actually has a year round habitat management program specifically for the benefit of the dove population. With good management, cooperative weather and planted crops of milo, wheat, and sunflowers we have created a haven for migrating dove colonies and our dove harvest numbers prove it. For example, during the 2003 Dove Season, our hunters harvested 11, 272 doves!

With numbers like this, why would you want to go to Mexico or Argentina to Hunt Dove when you can go to north-central Texas and wingshoot at some Dove Hunting North of the border?

The majority of these Dove Hunts don't last long. With statistics like that you have to come out and see it for yourself! We will let the birds speak for us.

Dove Hunters will typically depart from the lodge between 5:30-6:00 am for the morning hunt after a run and go breakfast. Afternoon dove hunts typically will depart from the lodge between 3:00-3:30 PM.

Ranger Creek Ranch owns or has access to approximately 20,000 acres of prime hunting land. The terrain varies from rolling mesquite pastures to rough cedar break country with natural spring water, and is located in Baylor and Knox Counties with the main ranch located between the Brazos River and the South fork of the Wichita River and the Eastern portion of the ranch on the North fork of the Little Wichita River.

Overview:

There are few things better than a spring Wild Turkey Hunt in the Rolling plains of West Texas. The feel of spring shedding off its cold winter coat, and wildflowers abounding in every field. Did I mention the heart pounding action of two Rio Grande turkeys fighting for territory and mating rights?

Texas is home to over 600,000 Rio Grande turkeys and Ranger Creek Ranch holds an abundance of these animals. In return, we have a high success rate and liberal bag limits with a lengthy spring Wild Turkey Hunting season.

We recommend 10 or 12 gauge shotguns with full chokes and either 4's, 5's or 6 shot. Full camo, facemask, light jacket, binoculars, quiet boots, rain gear, camera, ice chest, several different turkey calls, flashlight, toiletries and hunting license when on Wild Turkey Hunts. Bows equipped with special turkey broadheads are fine

Guided Turkey Hunts consist of going out in the morning after a continental breakfast, hunting where the birds roosted the night before or in an area of a roost. After the hunt you will come back to the lodge for either a country brunch or lunch, rest and then back out for an afternoon hunt until the birds go to roost.

Self Guided Turkey Hunts: When you arrive we will take you out and show you the hunting areas and go over hunting and meal schedules.
