Additional Information

Overview:

Captain Rusty Tronicek has been fishing out of Port O'Connor for over 30 years. He has been a regular competitor in local fishing tournaments and often times you would find his name on the winner's board. After many years of fishing for enjoyment, he decided to get his captain's license and is now licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and Texas Parks and Wildlife. Having these qualifications allows him to share his love of fishing and the open water with you.

If you need a day out with the guys, a get-away with your spouse or an enjoyable family trip with the children, a fishing adventure with Rusty's Charters is just what you are looking for. You may fish for red snapper, kingfish, ling, dolphin, shark, barracuda, tuna, amberjack and wahoo. Or fish inshore for trout and redfish. September and October are great months to catch bull reds.

We offer you a smooth comfortable ride to the best fishing spots aboard a 30 foot Grady White. The boat leaves the dock at 7:00am and returns around 5:00pm. With new 250 Suzuki 4 stroke motors and 300 gallons of fuel, the crew will get you there and back quickly and safely.  Our equipment includes Furuno Radar, Garman GPS, and a Furuno Color Depth Finder. Captain Rusty and crew fish with Penn and Abu Garcia reels matched with Tiger and Ugly Stik rods by Shakespeare. He also provides bait (frozen) for the day and ice on the boat for your day’s catch.

You are asked to bring your own food and snacks, because you’ll need the energy when you “fight the big ones”! Also, if you would like a refreshing drink while you are on the water, make sure you have included them...but please, no glass containers are allowed on board.

To protect yourself from the sun, you may want to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a cap or hat. It is also a good idea to bring a camera so you’ll have mementos from your fishing experience. Last-but-not-least...don’t forget to bring your Texas Fishing License, required if fishing inshore waters.
