Additional InformationOverview: ULTRA CHARTERS is a fishing or scuba diving charter service operating out of Bridge Harbor Yacht Club in Freeport, Texas. Ultra Charters is owned and operated by Capt. Al Manica. Capt. Al who is a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer, U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and a certified PADI dive master with over 20 years experience. Trip Includes: All Fishing tackle, bait, ice and deck-hand, USCG Safety euipment. FISHING SITES: Oil rigs and or wrecks, are essentially artificial reefs and make excellent fishing locations. Some of the fish typically caught around these sites are: red snapper, ling, amberjack, king, shark, grouper, pompano and sheep-head to name a few. The underwater structure of a rig in 100 ft. of water adds 3-4 acres of hard surface to the water column. They are covered with barnacles, encrusting sponges, bryozoans, and white hydroid or ivory coral and attract literally thousands of various types of marine life. Water clarity is typically 60' approximately. In addition to fishing around the oil rigs, Ultra charters will fish submerged structures, such as: salt domes and sunken wrecks. When fishing these sites primarily three methods will be utilized; drift, trolling, and stationary structure. Fishing Day Trips typically have an 8:00 a.m. departure time and returns between 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.. Bring a light lunch and beverages, no coolers please, the boat is equipped with coolers and a refrigerator. Deckhand, fishing poles, tackle, bait and ice will be provided by Ultra Charters. Fish cleaning tables with fresh running water are available at the marina. FOOTWEAR: Please do not wear shoes that will mark the deck of the boat. Light colored sole tennis shoes, sandals or boat shoes are fine, dark colored or black rubber sole foot wear is a no–no, thanks.
