I can't believe how many white wing I have seen in the North Zone (Anson TX) the last few years. I have been hunting dove for 24 years and never saw a white wing or ring neck until a few years ago.

Everyone has received excellent spring rains, the crops are in, the fall looks set for a great dove and hunting season across the state.

Crops are up and the timing is perfect for this fall, at least everyone has a lot of moisture this year. Looks like a lot of nesting birds around.

I can't recall seeing this many fledgling white wings in the past at my bird feeders. It really should be a good dove hunting season.
The Eurasian Collared Dove have really spread to this region as well. How long have they been present around San Antonio/Austin. I don't remember seeing any down here until around 3 years ago.

Saw a couple of collard dove in Allen recently -- maybe they have been around before but this was my first time to notice them. Season looks good indeed. Same for quail!!!!

I read that the Eurasion Collared Dove is migrating up from the Bahamas, and spreading like wildfire. Some are concerned at the rate at which they are multiplying. There's some concern that they may begin to displace the existing morning doves, and perhaps even the white wings.
I've not eaten one, but they say they eat the exact same things as morning and white wing, so they taste about the same.

Around San Antonio Area or closer to the south zone border. I will be coming from Houston. I wish I could find a lease in central zone that is as productive as yours.
