Well I killed some Dove this morn and went home and had a training session with my Lab, Waco.  I brought out a frozen dove and made him sit and stay then tossed it and he got it like always and brought it to me.  I did that about 8 times, all went well.  Then I sneaked in a freshly killed still warm dove.  I made him sit and stay again, tossed it and released him.  He smelled it, licked it then picked it up and came running to me.  I was sooooooooooooo happy he didnt eat it.  It was cool and made me feel good about training him, he is very smart and a quick learner, I am just scared I might teach him incorrectly.  Well later guys just wanted to spout off a bit.

It all sounds like you've got a real 'birdy' dog there, Danny, and that you are doing all the right things to get him trained properly as well.

Ain't it fun???

Now that is too cool.  I bet your were a proud daddy.  Have you thought about taking him out to the field with you?  I can't remember if you've had him around guns at all yet.
