Howdy! I wonder what the cartridge looks like compared with a 50 cal BMG? That T-Rex would be hard to shoot accurately even with a muzzle brake. Interesting though!  Always, Gene

.577 T-Rex was developed back in the early '90s by a company called A-Square (Authur Alphin) for African big game hunting.  It zooms a .585", 750 grain cartridge at 2,460 fps with over 10,000 ft-lbs of energy.  The .50 BMG was developed just at the end of WW1 as a military cartridge, and essentially is a scaled-up .30-06 dimensionally.  It shoot a .510" projectile somewhere between 2700 fps and 3000+ fps depending on the specific projectile (M2 Ball is 647 grains and 2,930 fps) and generates over 10,000 ft-lbs out of the barrel as well.  Here's a couple pics for reference.
