LOVE my Mathews bow.  I have a Black Max 2 that is proably 4 to 5 years old and has about 600 shots on it. I am on my second string with it.  I also have a DXT I have had for 2 years and have about 250 shots on it NEVER had a problem with either bow.  I am going to shoot the Z7 next week and plan on buying a new Mathews this year.

I have a Mathews FX, bought about 10- 12 yrs ago. Hey, it still kicks some ass, i wouldnt trade it, Who knows, i might upgrade to a new Mathews one day

I had a DXT for a little while, and I loved it. I sold it and bought a Monster XLR8 and I love it too. It's faaaaast, and a whole lot more fun to shoot than most think.

There are lots of good bows out there so don't get hung up on brand. I love my Mathews, but if I had the money I'd own at least one of each of the others too.

I shoot a Mathews S2 that I bought new last year 2009.  I had been out of bowhunting for about 10 years and decided to get an upgrade from the old PSE.  I shot most of the new bows and settled on the S2.  I think now I would like the DXT a little better because of the mass wt.  I killed two deer and 5 hogs this year with my S2 (28" @ 62#) and had total pass through on everything.  No lacking in penetration or accuracey once set up correctly.  I had to change the grip though to help control the torque problem I was having.  I have an order in now for a new cam for a little shorter DL, 28" down to 27".  Seriously thinking about trying the compact DXT or the Hyperlite from ebay someday since I shot out of a ground blind and tower blind mostly this year.  I have had no problems with this bow it is just a little heavy to toat around when going on a hog hike.  I did shoot a lot of the other brands and almost bought a Bowtech but didn't think the quality was there for the money.  Mathews makes a quality bow but you pay for it.

FYI:  There is a new Mathews dealer in Abilene, TX at the Abilene Lumber Co. on University.  Took my S2 in there yesterday for a string and cable change and they did an excellent job, fast and the price was right.  I live a little over an hour from there and they got right on the job and called me an hour later ready to go. 

Shot an SQ2 for years, then went to a quest XPB. Best bow I probably will have ever owned, and hunted with.

Sorry to say but the trusty old Mathews is up for sale now need new bow and I hate having a back-up that sits in the case.

I shoot the Mathews MQ1 circa 1995.  This bow was discontinued by Mathews in 2003 and has continued to be my pride and joy.  I am resistant to "upgrade" as I am still wearing our targets and making short blood trails.
