I love to predator hunt, but i've always just used calls and gone to know areas where farmers have seen cats, and coyotes. Does anyone have any suggestions one what I can use to help pull them in.

I also love to call and would be interested in anything that will bring them in closer.  I really like to call during the day, mostly evening, and have never used a decoy like I have seen on TV.  Have you had any experience with those, you know, the little tail of some sort that is attached to a short rod that rotates and swishes the tail.  Seems like a good idea to get the attention off of your and on to the movement.   I'll be watching this post with interest since it is getting winter time and the pelts are best this time of year.

COYOTE

I have never used decoys and i also hunt during the day or late evening. I set out a few game cameras and then select my spot after reveiw. I sure thought that some of the others reading the thread would have some ideas how we can get some soon. Oh i did try a coyote bomb and it seemed to work but make sure you don't deer hunt in the same area. I had alot of pictures of doe and then i set the bomb off and now no deer just a few coyote.

I love to predator hunt also I mostly used to just call for them until I had a huge bobcat come after my mojo dove one dove season. I took it along on my next predator hunt. I used the call to get them close and when they saw that mojo they came running for it. I shot two the first time with a bow. I have used a few different critter decoys since then, but for some reason I still have the best succes with the mojo.

good hunting

IDEA Finally something I know alittle about! Use anything that has motion for cats....mojo dove was a good idea. The purpose of the decoy isn't to lure the predator in....it's to keep his attention off of you after you call him in. Remember....you're not going to call in something everytime at every place. That's just the way it is. You have to keep the wind in your face and keep trying. Remember, too, that coyotes usually run into the call....cats tend to sit back and watch....taking their time. Thats when a decoy is gonna help you the most. As far as scents go....save em for your traplines.....mating season would probably be the only time they'll offer you much. Never used them for calling....never saw the need to!
