Talked to a friend who hunts near Post Texas. A fellow hunter last weekend took a buck with bow. 5.5in base 4in mid beams 12pts. 25in inside spread. He shot a doe at 20yrds and this buck came out and stood by her until he was shot and ran 60yrds. He is going to have him scored. Also everyone on the lease reported the bucks runnin does and fighting. Looks like this will be a great year for large bucks, if I ever have time to get to the lease. The rain this year is great for the deer, but really hurts my construction business.

Ive been hunting in Booger County and have been seeing lots of rutting activity for about a week or two.  Nothing really mature yet but lots of nice 3 year olds and a few four year olds.  Its got my finger itching.  Had a real nice wide 8 point this morning, but couldn't make my self unleash the RAGE.  NIce to finally be feeling some buck fever again.

No David this is from a friend of mine. He hunts near Post, Texas. Northwest of DFW. The guys out at our place have not seen any real signs of rut activity, just some of the smaller bucks smellin around.
