Just wanted to check around and see if anyone is seeing much activity in Erath County?

We just started anew on a property in south Erath that hasn't been hunted in 3-4 years, which is nice, but it's hard to get the patterns down, know volume of deer, etc.  We've had the feeders in and running for a little over a month now, spinning twice a day.

A couple of us sat in the stand last Saturday morning and saw 4 (2 doe, a split spike, and a buck though it was still too dark to tell too much about it), but none of them came to the feeders.  Instead these seemed to be out for a morning stroll and weren't too concerned about the corn.

I know with the amount of rain and acorns on the ground it is probably going to be a late season, but I just wondered if anyone else had seen much activities at their feeders?

Also why I'm here, I know it is too late in the season for everyone, but I still wanted to pass this along.

We found these packing/storage crates online and they turned out to be perfect starters for deer blinds.  They measured 5'x8'x7' and with minimal effort turned into great deer blinds.  We ripped one in half to make two 5'x4'x7' one-man blinds that we put about 2' off the ground and then left one whole to make a double blind that we put on 4"x4"x6's.  The only real drawback that I found is that the 4'x8' plywood is only 1/4", but that's not too bad with proper bracing.

We found them on Craig's List out of Lewisville.  They get them in pretty regularly, but the grade A ones go quickly.
