Where Texas Comes Together– for Homeschoolers

Wednesday, Oct. 21
9:30 am–1:30 pm
$9 per child, ages 7–13

Discover how water influenced the settlement of Texas and continues to play an important role in our future. Assemble a puzzle of Texas and learn about the different eco-regions of the state. Participate in a fire ecology field study to learn how different plants cope with forest fire by comparing vegetation in and out of a wildfire burn zone. Enjoy the plant and animal life along the trails of McKinney Roughs as our staff tell the story of the Colorado River and why the river is the reason for the protection of this natural area.

Bring a sack lunch and refillable water bottle. This is a drop-off program, but parents may attend if they prefer. To prevent disruption, we appreciate your finding an alternative activity for siblings younger than the minimum age required. Pre-registration is required.
