TROPHY_HUNTER

This summer was a memorable one for me and my son because we did some seriuos wade fishing with great results.  We are blue collar sportsman and don't own a fancy boat or a fishing cabin, what we do have is a desire and passion to catch fish.  We have many favorite spots in the Coastal Bend but have found great success in the oyster reefs of Nueces bay, clear wading waters of Aransas Bay, and neverending waters of Shamrock Cove.  We have a goal to get out on the water once a month and take the two hour drive to the coast from San Antonio.  Good fishing months for us are October - December for drum and Reds and March- Summer for more redfish and trout action.  We caught a mess of Black Drum during thanksgiving Holiday break on public waters off carbon plant road using dead shimp in the morning.  Then we hit new waters just west of the ferry landing in Port Aransas for some speckeld trou action in early summer.  Then the grand finale was the incredible weekend of fishing in August at Sharock Cove where limited out on Reds mid-day using live shrimp on Saturay and Sunday.  All this done without the use of a Kayak or boat, no expensive reels or fancy tackle.  Just heart, soul and South Texas sweat!!!  If we are not fishing the coast, then we are playing select baseball, if we are not playing baseball then we are in the brush country shooting dove or hunting deer.  What else could a father want, living the outdoor dream hunting and fishing with my son!!!
