Im always curious to hear the answers to a few questions that I ask most hunters I run into.
Where is it that you primarily hunt?
What county?
Is it public or private?
How many acres?
How many guns?
What game can be found?
Do you feed from feeder or food plot?
If its a lease how much do you pay?
Bow hunt?
Gun hunt?

Ill start by answering my own questions...
I hunt at a family owned ranch in central texas in Coryell county, and at a lease in Cottle county.
Both are privately owned.
Coryell- is about 800 acres overal.
Cottle- Is almost 700.
There are about 5 people that actively hunt the Coryell Co place, and we have 4 guns on the ranch in Cottle Co.
In Coryell co we primarily have White tail and hogs as the major game. Also have some predators and dove. There have been a few exotics seen on this place but none have been harvested. Sitings have included a few axis deer, a sika deer, and at lease one albino white tail.
In Cottle we have White tail as well as mule deer. TONS of Hogs. Quail Dove and Predators.
In Coryell about 10 percent of the property gets planted in oats, and we also run corn feeders in season and feed some protein in spring via trough feeders. There is a full herd of cattle on this property.
In Cottle about 20 percent of the property is grown in winter wheat. The rest is overgrown in drawls and has no farm animals on it period. We also run corn feeders.
As I said the Coryell place is family owned, the Cottle lease is CHEAP at 625 a gun and is owned by a friend of a friend who wanted a personal relationship in renting his land for lease. Therefore the cheaper price than most would charge.
I have bow hunted but not successfully, and I hunt a majority of the game with my Rem 700 30-06.

Lots of questions: I regularly hunt SHNF. It is only a few minutes from the house. I also hunt FT. Hood. Deer is my main pursuit. I also hunt dove, ducks, woodcock, and pigs. I hunt with bow, rifle and shotgun. The cost for everything is approx.$220. No feeding and it is public land.
Matt are we related in some way?

I hunt in SW Edwards county (Carta Valley). It's halfway between Rockspring and Del Rio. My dad and I own 230acs. I look forward to the day when I can take my two boys out there (soon, my oldest is 3). We have all types of game...whitetail, axis, several species of sheep, hogs, dove, turkey. We have 4 feeders and a small food plot about 1/2 acre. I bought my first bow last year.

Never pursued hogs at Hood. It is a good drive for me so I'm after deer. Pigs will always be shot on site regardless of where I'm hunting. I have family in northern Arkansas but that is as far north as we go. Most of our clan is here in Texas.
