Had to share a few pictures of our 30 anniversary trip that we have been saving for about 10 years. I can't say enough about our outfitter.  Cruiser Safaris.

Jcraig,

Africa is much more affordable that either of the others you mention.  the only tough thing is being prepared for the 14 hour plane ride but it is well worth it.

how much does it run on average? i dont know about my grandpa but i have no intentions on the cape buffs or hippoes nor elephants. i would like to go after the planes game. maybe a cat or two, he may want to go after the dangerous game. i think it would be a nice challenge to go after the plains critters with my 7mm, i figure if they can do it with a .06 or a 300 win and a .270, then my 7mm will suffice.

You are correct, your 270 and 7mm will do just fine on plainsgame. Look at their website, www.cruisersafari.com

The hunt I bought was the 8 day hunt that included Trophy fees on 5 animals plus 8 days for my wife as an observer was $4725.00 I think plus airfare. You will overnight in Joburg in Afton house and that is very nice.

Anyone interested in possibly going to Africa should go to the Tomball Toms National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) 2nd Annual Banquet at the Tomball VFW on Thursday, June 25th. One of the live auction items is a 10 day safari for two hunters to South Africa. It includes airfare and taxidermy three days in Kruger National Park, and there is NO reserve. It is an absolute auction. There are many more items being auctioned, and many door prizes, etc.

For more information, contact me as below, or at: ken.jayne@prodigy.net, Terrance Jackson at: tdjack22@yahoo.com, or Lou Von Wogdom at: lvonwoglom@comcast.net. Tickets are $20 for the BBQ, and if you are not a NWTF member, $30 for a membership.

Could be a great opportunity to get a great trip at a great price!

Ron,

Those are some great trophies. You did very, very well!

Hope that you took your wife with you. I took mine on my latest trip last month to Namibia and she really enjoyed it.

Very nice trophies, that is definitley a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Just to satisfy my curiosity (not trying to stir-up and hornet nests), where all those free range?  Keep in mind I no NOTHING about hunting outside the US.

All of South Africa is highfenced . We hunted on 6 different areas ranging from 3500 acres to 25,000 acres.

The hunting is deffinatly challenging but there is so many animals , the opportunities are endless.
