I'm thinking about putting some small food plots on my property this year. Nothing too big, something i can work in with a roto-tiller or similar machine. I just don't know what to plant! It has to be something that needs little to no maintenance. I'm wondering if anyone has used those bags of seeds that you just spread on the ground and thats it. Will any of this work with natural rainfall as my only source of water?

                                   Thanks for your help!

ANTLERS

i own 30 acres up in Robertson county and we have three 1 acre food plots and have had really good luck we just disc up the ground with a tractor and use a hand spreader and throw chicory turnips clover mix biologic has some good blends. we disc throw the seed and then throw fertilizer over that and then cover it up and pray for rain.. we usually wait to plant when we know we are gonna get some rain. one thing we found out is that u need to take a soil sample to see what u need to add to the dirt we found that we needed a ton of lime its very important that the soil is right for planting.we keep plots year round this is year six of our planting and it really helps the deer
