Long Distance Management Plan

I need some ideas on a long distance management plan for a small property near Natalia, TX.

My best friend bought the property three years ago and has built a home there.  He is in poor health and does not hunt anymore, isn't capable of doing much requiring physical exertion.  He has given me complete freedom to manage the place to improve the deer hunting.  The kicker is that I live in Phoenix, AZ and I get to Texas for a few days/a week once each quarter.

The property is unfenced and surrounded by other unfenced, mostly undeveloped properties.  The first thing we did was put in a small stock tank and the deer now use it every evening.  We've seen some very respectable mature bucks over the summer and during the early archery season, plus lots of does.  Hunting pressure in the area seems to be minimal.

We have two corn feeders set up and throwing corn morning and evening.  I'd like to add something that will benefit the deer and make the property more attractive - probably protein feeders - which seems easier - or else a food plot.

With my limited amount of time to devote to the effort (and, of course, limited resources to finance it), does anyone have any suggestions on how to go?

Thanks!
