off 1374 bridge on lake stubble field go north up the fingers into the woods when i was in college at sam we took woodies there.   lots of white bass in the spring too

It's not a waste of time but it has been real slow this year.  I go exactly to where sbtexashay mentioned.  There are lots of hunters there on the weekend so either get there early or go during the week.

Give me a buss in the season and I will show you some spots, you will have to buy a type 2 permit

Im new to hunting on public land and have been reading up on lake conroe, I want to go scout a little bit would a canoe work or do I need a boat with a motor to hit up the north side of the lake and down caney creek? 

A boat with a motor should be fine, I haven't really got to scout Conroe myself but I've hunted with my brother a few times.  For some reason though hunting on lake conroe isn't as good as Livingston or Trinity unless you just like bustem some woodies cause there is an abundance of them around here...  Good luck 

Im new to the area to, and looking for a nice place on public land where i can either walk/wade or use a small jon boat. Any ideas? I am starting to get things together.
