Never have, and form some of the COMPLAINTS that I read on this forum this past year, I won't be using his services any time soon. Please do as much research as you can before you invest in any guide service. There are some GOOD ones out there as well as some real LOW LIFES.

Yes, he is the guy from Hill Country Outfitters. I have never used him, but spoke to him on the phone, seems like a straight forward kindof guy. from the way i understood how he runs his service, it doesnt sound like a bad deal. He claims he is not a middle man, he just does all the leg work for you, and if he doesnt find you a place you dont pay. Thats the way i understood it from him.

Two years ago Faulkner told me that I pay him and then he finds me a lease. If they don't find me a lease, then the money I paid applies to the next year. Yes, he was an easy going guy and easy to talk to, but I felt like I was on one of those old car lots looking at an '87 El Camino. I told him that I didn't wish to offend anyone by saying this, but I wouldn't take that deal no matter what and that it was 100% unacceptable. It would not happen. He then began to justify his actions by stating that he had working lease agents out looking for those leases, and that they needed gas money. Uhhh, no Jimmy. No.

I am sad to say that a couple of us used him and were burnt. He is a fraud and I am trying to put it on every website I can and trying to alert the website owners of sites he is posting on. Same deal as discussed by others. Send me $500 wire transfer and I will give you the contacts of ranch owners that are ready to deal. The money that was paid to him was suppose to come off the yearly lease and that was a reason to use him as well as a discount lease. Well needless to say after he got the money there was a bunch of double talk with no leases to be seen with the exception of a few 1-2 hundred acre leases. Just to let you know he promised us over 1000 acre leases for 5 guys between $1500- $2000 fo rbow and gun.
Just for fun call him or email him and you will understand how this guy works. You have never heard the ammount of double talk even from a used car salesman...
He is a fraud and everyone that has had contact with him should expose him and put him out of business! bart_clatyon@yahoo.com email me if you have any questions...

He is not a straight forward guy and absolutely does no leg work...... he is the ultimate middle man and simply finds land on the Internet off of sites just like this and tells you he visits but doesn't. I have had land owners tell me this themselves. And ETX Bowhunter you pay up front and then he will not give you your money back..... Been there! I think you definately missunderstood him but then again it was probable him just lying to you!

Jimmy Faulkner set me and a group up with tons of leases that were well priced. He is a very straightforward and honest man that wants everyone to enjoy the sport of hunting for the cheapest price he can find. The man is just trying to make an honest living trying to find us all a place to hunt. I am happy with everything Jimmy did for me.

Then since you are such a great customer maybe you can convince him to give all of us our money back for not giving us the great service you got... It sure would be a great leap of faith.
I can assure you mine and others claims are not drawn out of thin air we have a reason to be angry. I would loved to get tons or even one lease close to what he promised that he already had available for me to look at. When I sent my money all the sudden these 1500 acre leases went to 200 acre leases that were suppopse to hunt 8 people. The fact is that he made false and misleading claims about the land he had leased or could lease took our money and didnt look back.
Until I see my $500 I will continue to think of him as a crook.

He lives in Faulkner Point Condos at Ray Hubbard. After doing some research we found out that Faulkner Point Condos was the brainchild of Danny Faulkner which is a relative. He went to prison for fraud involving the scamming of around 120 million dollars in fake loans from a S&L he ran called Empire State S&L. Jimmy told me he lived there and it is just too much coincidence. He got my 541 bucks, I hope that no one else makes the same mistake. Stay away from this clown. Jimmy if you are reading any of this, we are onto you, so get lost or even better, come hunting with us!!

Another thing to notice is that Rick Morgan (the only positive reply on this blog) who comments up above on the 20th of August 2008, has only had a user account on this website since the 20th of August. How convenient he decided to join now and sing Jimmy's praises. Perhaps it's just Jimmy jumping in under another name to further his scam chances.
This guy is really bad. We all need to get the word out and put this guy out of business.

Dear Mr.Barber, what on this lord's great earth are you suggesting? I am quite sure that the great legendary Mr. Faulkner would just love to have a hunt with you and ALL of his other "SATISFIED" customers. Personally though, a hunt would NOT be right with me. I would much prefer the 1800's tried and true method of public "TAR AND FEATHERS". I have not had any dealings with this low life, but just the same, I feel very badly for my fellow hunters when we are taken advantage of. Good luck to you and have a good season. And I agree with all of you, he should be banded from this site before he screws anyone else.

I used Jimmy Faulkner several years ago. I sent him money and he did not come close to providing a lease. Every lease he provided was from a news paper add and had already been leased. I grew tired of his runaround tactics and tried to get my money back. This was when he started telling me that I need to contact his sister about the money. He eventually stopped answering his phone when I would call.
I have been searching the web site looking for a place to warn people about the thief. All I have to say with as many people he has riped off is. SOME DAY JIMMY- SOME DAY.

I had been hunting in Stevens county for 5 years and the land owner sold the property this last September. I started to look on line for leases, Jimmy name popped up and I called him. He talked about how many leases he has avaliable and how cheap they are. I told him what we were looking for and what price range. Well me and my dad met up with his sister Connie to hirethem for their services. We did and she had me sign a paper that has names and numbers of property owners that have land to lease. Every one of them had already been leased months. I called Jimmy to see if he had found any and he said he has been realy busy, to call Scott or Bill. I call the guys and they tell me they will call me back that they are busy, I never recive a call back. Lucky for me a rancher that I had called before I hired Jimmy called me and told me that the guys he had backed out on him. So me and my dad went to look at the property and it was great. I call Jimmy to tell him that we found something and to see if we can get our money back, he said that was fine and he will get with us to refund our money. I have yet to this day talked to him on the phone by e-mail or even herd back from him. I call him and all I get is his voice mail. Now I am getting emails from some one named Linda that I will never see a dime of my money that on the paper that I signed is says that if I hire them and I'm out looking for leases that if I find one my money is nonrefundable. No where on that paper does it say that it is nonrefundable, or any thing about looking for your own leases, I bet if that rancher had not called me I would still be waiting on a call back. This guy got me and my dad for our money but we are not sitting back with our mouths closed so please DO NOT HIRE JIMMY FAULKNER HE IS A FRAUD AND Jimmy here is my e-mail Jessefragoso@yahoo.com lets see if you ever reply

Let me start by introducing myself. I am Jimmy Faulkner's daughter. Some of you "bandwagon & soft palm" hunters, let me ask you to take a look at the idea of taking in around 250 emails - per week, then try to please each and every one of them with the best deal we can arrange. Some of you are too picky, lazy, or just don't know the procedures we go thru to make each hunt a memorable one. We don't just settle for anything, anywhere. This is our life's business, we know land owners, we know hot spots, and we try to offer the best experience availiable. Think of the time, phone calls, emails, drive-outs, web search, that we put into just one person/group. Get something to bitch about that makes since. We bust our ass and in the end, when your hunt comes up and things went way above expectations, we paved that road to your great hunt, thats what we pride in our business. We're not going to send someone on a pointless hunt that was a let down. Let me hear from one of you that HAVE went out with us and lets see just how BAD it was. The perfect hunt doesn't just fall into our lap, we spend nearly ten hours daily just trying to find each customers need. My dad works his ass off, and we basically break even-its the hunt that is important to us. Some of you boys need to step back and figure out a reason why your running a good man's name thru the mud. If ya have manners and a little patience, you'll go on the exact hunt you requested. Email me for further discussion at shariece_lanette@msn.com I'm open for discussion-- this needs to be resolved. I'll also take complaints-valid ones, just to see if there really are any from you "hunters".

Faulkner's daughter, I'm sure you guys work a lot of hours and try hard, but the bottom line is when people are out $500-1750 with nothing to show for it, they are going to be mad. You ask others to try taking in 250 e-mails per week and work through them to get everyone satisfied. You are implying that your group can't take care of that many requests. Here is a suggestion, if you can't properly take care of a customer, contact the customer and tell him/her that you guys are swamped and you can't provide an excellent level of customer service to them and let them use someone else to find a lease. Once you take money from someone you are committed to providing a high level of customer service, which ultimately is finding them a lease or providing a refund. if you aren't going to provide refunds you need to document that fact explicitly (and discuss it prior to money exchanging hands). Instead of firing back at the individuals who feel they were wronged by your father, why don't you try to learn from these mistakes and improve the process your "company" follows.

I stand by my earlier suggestion. Why don't all of the dissatisfied hunters band together, go to the AG with their complaints and allow an unbiased organization to determine if they have a legitimate complaint. If Faulkner is on the up and up he will exonerated. If he wasn't then he'll go to jail. Either way, justice will be served.

Ok, so I'm new here and am running throuh the threads and posts (avoiding the fact I have to go back to work tomorrow)...
First, hello to everyone!
Anyways....JEES LOUISE, I feel for you fellows. I'm pretty active over on THF and a couple of other hunting boards and I don't remember this fellows name (and operation) being mentioned on those sights. You guys ought to spread the word to them too. I've never used Hill Country Outfitters nor met Jimmy Faulkner so I can't say crap about none of it....other than if there are so many unhappy people it is indicative of something certainly not being right....the first thing that isn't right is "give me your money now and I'll find you a place....yeah, ok....RIIIIGHT....."
Oh, I recognize that place he advertises on the red stag and fallow hunts from my hunt there last year. The owners name is John Hall. He's a pretty nice fellow. His prices are actually cheaper or they were last year. My brother and I paid $100 per point period. My 6x5 was $1100, his 7x6 was $1300. We booked and hunted through Mr. Hall directly.

I used Jimmy last year, and the hunt with my boys was a great hunt and successful.
But, that said, Jimmy told me that the $250 I wired to him would come off the price uof the hunt. That didnt happen. The landowner charged me the full price quoted, and told me that Jimmy had kept money that belonged to him (the land owner). In addition, he stated he had told Jimmy not to call him anymore. He was through using him.
I understand getting paid for your efforts. But, you should be true to your word, and Jimmy talks out of both sides of his mouth, and then cheats you when hes caught in a lie.

Add another "satisfied customer" to Jimmy,s list. Bruce, I for one am glad that you had a good hunt, but I think you can understand why so many of our fellow hunters are in the "un-satisfied" catagory. Jimmy is a THIEF and a LIER and should be TARED AND FETHERED. I have no use for this guy, he has taken to many peoples money and left them out in the cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Guys I found a great Lawyer that is 100% behind us and all I need is a written statement from each of you about Jimmy Faulkner and the services that he did not provide. My father served on the Dallas city council for 18yrs, and Rowlett is in Dallas County so his friends are helping us out. We have allready contacted the BBB and he is under investigation. Email me at Jessefragoso@yahoo.com also attach whatever emails that were sent from jimmy, The more support against him the better the case. Thanks guys,

As for his duaghters post if this is their life work how can they function by "breaking even". I hope he is an honest businessman, but if he is what the posts lead on I hope you give him what he deserves!

If people stop complaining then other hunters will lose out by using his service. Some people have neither the time, nor resources, to turn this thing into a court battle. Yet what they do have is an opinion, and this being a forum about hunting, it is the appropriate place to "complain".

Wow, we were about to contact this guy about the leases he has recently listed on this site under the name of "S & W Outfitters", but saw all the warnings you guys made. There's no way we would have sent him money up front, but non the less, glad we didn't even waste our timedealong with him! A Sincere Thanks!! Just a question, if he has been banned from other sites, and is to appear in court, why is he allowed to post "leases" here?? YIKES!

I don't know what the laws are in this type of court, but I sure do hope the judge has issued a bench warrent for him for failure to show. This to me is another indication of the type of person that he is. A REAL SCUM BAG!!!!!!

Hornhunter, It would be nice if they could issue warrants in some of the cases such as this. But in a civil case that's not the way it goes. If you sue someone for any reason (and the judge allows the case) and they do not show, for any other reason other than an emergency, the judge will automatically find in your favor, and issue a judgement against the no-show party. So you win the lawsuit, but you have to wait till the person you sued either dies or wins the lottery before you will see the money. (plus you have to go re-register the judgement every seven years with the court to keep it active) Even when they die, their estate has to be worth enough to pay of any outstanding debts to the Govt, then they start taking care of any other debts. For the other you would have to convince the authorities to press criminal charges against him.
Guns don't kill people....Its those pesky little bullets making lots of holes that all the blood leaks out of.

Wow, I just got off the phone with Jimmy and wanted to do a little more research on him. I talked with him for about 20 min and had a gut feeling something just wasn’t right with this guy. I asked for references and all he could ramble out were leases done 20 years ago. I was about to send him $500.00 dollars to find me a lease until I came across this forum.
Thanks for the heads up and saving me $500.00 dollars
