Jason  im not sure but i think marlin makes one and i know that they are expensive for new ones. i have a friend thats a breeder and has about five or six of them ill see if he wants to sell them. im sure you know that obtaining the drugs is not easy and they are very dangerous to humans. i have darted a few deer and its not as easy as loading and shooting, its a whole process. on top of that a bad shot and you may end up killing the animal. the ones we use are accurate out to about fifty yards and the strength is variable. im sure you know all this i just dont want everyone in the country to think they can buy one and the drugs and start darting deer. its a crime to dart a game animal ie. whitetail and mule deer that are not in tpw breeding pens. good luck with your search and ill email you if i have any luck.

This seemed like a pretty reasonable price.  Its made by Benjamin. I've been using a similar Benjamin pellet rifle for close to 30 years. So it should be built well.

Guns don't kill people....Its those pesky little bullets making lots of holes that all the blood leaks out of.

We used Pneu-dart equipment on the exotics at the ranch I used to work on.  Go to www.pneudart.com and they have several guns to choose from.  Get to know your local vet, thats where we were able to get our drugs from.

I have a Pneu-Dart Rifle.  It works great.  I usually use my blowgun when I can it doesn't make as much noise and spook them as bad.  It is only good to about 15 yds but in pens it is not too dificult to get that close.  I have used it LARGE pens and you just have to get close.

Hello I have the 178B.  it is a pump dart rifle 50cal.  it will shut a 3cc dart 30 yards with plenty of power for darting deer. 

I have a question.  Is there any hunter's out there that would pay to dart a deer on my property.  You would get a video of the shoot and pictures of you and the downed deer.  First shooter at the end of the season you would get dibs on the sheds at the end of the year.  I have to dart my deer to move them or give them Meds. because of the State reg.  to keep my deer.  I have to pay for the meds. tranq. drugs and Darts.  Would like to know if there are any shooter's at there interested in doing something like this?

I dont know how many deer you have.  I raise whitetail and I would not let anyone dart one to help pay for meds what happens when you have a deer hit wrong. i would give this idea some thought before i did it just my opinion

Jason.  Just stumbled across your thread here.  Yes, I have heard of Cap-Chur - my Dad invented it in Georgia while I was growing up (search USPTO.gov under Crockford & you will find it).  Dad did the firearm and dart delivery part of it and the other inventors on the patents did the drug part. Cap-Chur was the name it was marketed under by Palmer Chemical Co. by a guy named Red Palmer.  It has since changed hands, but I think the name may still be the same, not sure.  Ed Lillman has a point in his comment, although it is probably not as bad as it used to be.  Dad has some pretty interesting stories about what they had to do to get the drugs right.  It took awhile.  But the drugs are much better now that they were back then.  They were using some pretty nasty stuff.  The new drugs may not make up for poor marksmanship though.  The gun was originally developed to move deer from the southern coastal area of Georgia into the habitat of central and northern Georgia.  It worked.  Maybe that's more than you wanted to know, but it's not every day I get a chance to brag about my Dad to a complete stranger.  Anyway, I would thiink with the proper training, a regular bloke could get it right, but if I were trying to do something on my own, I would first have a talk with somebody in Texas Parks & Wildlife who is trained to use them, or at least talk to an animal control person who knows what they are doing.

I grew up across the street from cap chur,mr red Palmer owned it.he had taken my family into the "zoo"he owned.we learned he had elk,lions,hyena,wolves,etc.we could hear them at feeding time every night.the wolves would get out every once and awhile.lion had gotten out too.all the neighborhood kids would go into the woods where the cap chur fence was located and we would look at the wolves,and the elk.mr palmer died about 8-10 years ago and the land was turned into a half developed neighborhood.no more animals

It's 6am and I been up since 3 cuz my neighbor's rat dog is out of control, so I got the idea that a tranq would be a humane way to get some peace and quiet and came searching and found this string. The problem is this neighbor is a grade A a--h---. I've tried talking to him and it goes nowhere. And maybe this is the paranoid part but he's a lawyer who threaten's "legal action" for every damn thing, so I don't want to leave a paper trail or else he'll come after me when he finds his dog knocked out. I'm hoping i can find some stranger to sell me their blowgun or get one for me new and ship it to me for a fee. 

Not asking for anything illegal just a little side stepping of a jackass. I'm sure there's probably something that says I shouldn't tranq a dog that's not mine but I've tried everything else and this seems humane and decent resolution. I've tried using whistles and dog pitch sounds. And I really don't wanna call cops on a pesky little thing like this. I figure a shot every now and then might send the message.

I also have a couple of large obnoxious constantly barking and snarling dogs in my area that need to be tranqed so I can enjoy my days off without my shoulders tensed and getting a headache.   The owners are not open to consideration of their neighbors.  they were made to get rid of one dog but still have another.   And the neighboer next door also has one.

I am looking to purchase a tranquilizer shotgun or handgun at a reasonable price.  I am a dog rescuer in Los Angeles.  We have a situation where someone who lives in a rural area has a large property with dogs running loose on it, some are aggressive and killing other dogs.  We need to capture them: they have been too smart to trap.
